LC Vs. Lululemon: Which Legging is Best?
Partnership with LC
As someone with an active lifestyle, I’ve definitely struggled to find clothes that fulfill my unique needs. The gym clothes I’ve owned in the past were usually stiff, itchy, and lacking in style. Ultimately, I wanted to strike a balance between comfort and style — which, unfortunately, is easier said than done. I was just about ready to give up when the activewear trend surged in popularity.
All of a sudden, everyone was wearing athletic gear everywhere. You couldn’t go to the grocery store without seeing someone in leggings and a sweater. And, the best part was that the clothing looked great. These weren’t items you could only wear to the gym — they were clothes you could wear day to day.
As for me, choosing athletic tops was easy enough, but I found myself overwhelmed when it came to leggings. With so many options out there, I had no idea what to pick. After a few days of diligent research, I finally honed in on two main brands: LC and Lululemon.
Both brands offered activewear leggings that promised to fulfill my workout needs while remaining stylish. But which option was better? I decided the best way to find out would be to try them both myself.
The Brands: LC vs. Lululemon
Before trying out the two activewear legging options, I decided to learn a bit more about the brands. When reading about LC, I was immediately impressed by its dedication to creating the perfect fit. The clothes are produced in planet-friendly Oeko-Tex™ factories in Portugal and Thailand. Then, all styles are tried on by the company’s HQ team, which includes a diverse range of body types. Nothing is made available for sale until it meets their high comfort and style standards.
Like LC, Lululemon is committed to helping athletes — however, its origin story is a bit different. The company began as a yoga-inspired apparel company before branching out to serve other sports. Now, it designs clothing for running, cycling and almost any other athletic pursuit you could think of.
In terms of specific products, I decided to compare the LC Elevate Life Legging to the Lululemon Align Legging. I knew both of these products were designed for activewear — but I didn’t yet know which would come out on top.
The Comfort Test
As mentioned earlier, I was on the hunt for leggings that would deliver comfort and style. So, those were the first elements I focused on during my comparison.
Appearance-wise, I was pleased to discover that both leggings offer multiple color options. I particularly liked the more subdued tones of the LC Elevate Life Legging — you can choose from black, graphite, praline, and sage.
When it came to comfort, they both lived up to their promise. The Lululemon leggings, which claim to be “made for yoga,” were soft to the touch and form-fitting. However, it was the LC leggings that ultimately won me over. The peached finishing provides a luxuriously smooth, velvety feel. Not only is the fabric soft, but it’s also extremely flexible, which is great for both athletics and everyday use. I could easily see myself wearing these leggings all day long, whether it’s going to the yoga studio or on a grocery store run.
A Deeper Look into Fabric and Fit
Next, I decided to take a closer look at the leggings’ features — including fabric, fit and quality. Both LC and Lululemon leggings offer the following fabric features:
- 4-way stretch
- Sweat-wicking fabric
Lululemon align fabric is known for its buttery-soft, weightless qualities. It also incorporates Lycra® fiber, which provides extra shape retention. This helps the leggings adjust seamlessly to your body type, without being uncomfortable or looking out of place.
LC leggings, meanwhile, use peached fabric that feels super soft on my skin. It’s quick-drying, sweat-wicking, and perfectly squat-proof with 4-way stretch. This results in a comfortable, breathable feel that’s difficult to find anywhere else.
When trying on both leggings, I immediately fell in love with the soft, peached feel and subtle, elevated look of the LC legging. I found them to be more flattering and lightweight, and my body felt sculpted, yet unrestricted.
Which Was Worth the Price?
You can’t compare activewear without considering price. While prices can vary, the Lululemon Align Legging usually ranges from AED 360 to AED 433. The LC Elevate Life Legging, meanwhile, sits more affordably at around AED 295.
There’s a lot of debate when it comes to price — some people claim that more expensive items offer higher quality, while others argue that inexpensive items are more economical. Personally, I like to analyze the features of a product to determine which has the best value for the price.
Feature-wise, the leggings are definitely comparable — they both offer breathable, stretchable fabric, multiple color options and form-fitting yet comfortable styles. LC leggings, however, have the added bonus of squat-proof, Merrow stitching, as well as a more luxurious feel. When you consider the quality you’re getting for the price, I definitely think that the LC leggings offer higher value and a better deal.
LC: My Top Choice for Activewear
As someone who now wears leggings daily, I take my activewear seriously. I was dedicated to finding a sleek, stylish solution that was also suitable for everyday wear. After careful consideration, I decided to go with the LC Elevate Life Legging. Here are my top reasons:
- Unmatched fabric quality
- Modern design
- Planet-friendly production
- Affordable price point
- Perfect for everyday use
When trying on the leggings, I immediately fell in love with the soft, velvety feel and subtle, modern look. I also appreciated the fairly affordable price point. Above all, I found that the leggings are perfect for daily wear. Unlike other athletic leggings I own, they’re not designed just for the gym. I can wear them practically anywhere, from shops and cafés to parks and gatherings with friends. And, when I do wear them, I can always expect to get some compliments!
